The design concept on station amenities, offers a vision on the organization of all Dutch railway stations for the next 20 to 30 years. The complete vision is a vision book and two appendices. In the vision book the guiding principles and ambitions of the clients and stakeholders are included. The appendices provide practical starting points for executives and managers.

In the Vision on station amenities, the travelers experience is the main concern. After all, travelers are the main users of the equipment. The main goal is to provide a comprehensive improvement of the station facilities on all Dutch railway stations and to increase the customers appreciation. The vision provides a new perspective on the design of railway stations. Clear design principles directing the placement of objects, and design principles to direct a new and distinctive design style. For travelers, this means a more logical layout of the space on the station, a wider range of comfortable seating, accommodation and more experience. Each station will have a toolkit, a selection of objects that matches the size of the railway station. Railway stations are created with character, inviting and comfortable, with attention to the experience of the traveler.
