Well worth a visit!

The staircase connecting the village to the small beach via the steep dyke of the Dijkversterkingsproject Hansweert is a real eye-catcher. With its bevelled sides, the staircase clings firmly to the dyke. The intermediate platforms were already a wonderful place to sunbathe this summer. Even in more turbulent autumn weather, it will soon be a spectacular place to watch giant sea-going vessels pass by.

The retaining wall and the dyke steps have also been completed. Two long benches made from reused mooring posts have been integrated into the retaining wall, and brass lettering has been incorporated into the wall, singing the praises of the village of Hansweert. The walking route along the quay wall is lined with a series of concrete balusters at the end.
