Language of the road

The 'Taal van de weg' has marked itself out on the walls of the Nieuwe Kadijk - Oosterhoutseweg sub-crossing in Breda. On the concrete walls, the gold-coloured words BOOMSTAM and STAMBOOM can be read. Together, they form a word pair, recalling the Napoleonic era when the Oosterhoutseweg was built. Blom&Moors also designed the balustrades along Oosterhoutseweg and the light openings in the road surface above Nieuwe Kadijk. The rhythm of wooden uprights with cane-like rods in between connects the work of art to its surroundings.
