On the transition of shoreline and beach area, the new district Egelshoek is realised on the outskirts of the Heiloo forest. Central to this area is a strip of park with alder and an open space with a pond. The rectangular pond is enclosed by a neat edge. The water has a high and a low level, separated by a wooden piles with metal gratings. Within the pond edge is a garden island and the water is bisected by a route for slow traffic.

A bridge for cyclists and pedestrians is linking the edge of the pond with the garden island above the high and low water. It crosses piling. The bridge is the meeting point of the neighborhood. The bridge is made of steel. Above the high water the deck is straight and closed, above the low the water it is open and bent. The fencing is however is open above the high water and closed above the low water. The layers of the bridge railing are made of Cumaru (FSC).
