The tram connection Vlaanderen-Maastricht forms a part of the transportation project called ‘Spartacus’ in Limburg, Belgium. Atelier Quadrat made a study for three alternatives for the trace through the inner city of Maastricht. As part of the study Blom&Moors developed the design of the tram stops and the poles on each of the three route variants developed

The series of furnishing elements consists of fully equipped stops, span masts and light poles.
Starting point for the design is the relationship between stops and poles so that a recognizable and consistent layout of the tram route is created.
The designs are consistent on the identity of the public space of Maastricht city centre. Characteristic are the high-quality materials, the careful detailing and the understated dealing with street furniture. The ambition is also to give the tram this distinctive quality furniture.

The stops and masts are modular in design and can be adjusted to the desired function and to the spatial characteristics of the location.  Depending on the place they have a single sided or double sided orientation and they can be applied on a flat or sloping ground.
